Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD for Nintendo Switch Review

Hey ghost-hunters and treasure-seekers!

Grab your Poltergusts, because Luigi is back in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD on the Nintendo Switch! As a long-time fan of this series, from the spooky days of the original on the GameCube to the thrills of the arcade version at my local Dave and Busters, I was super excited to dive into this HD remake. Spoiler alert: It’s adorable, funny, and full of ghostly goodies!

Nostalgia Overload: From Original to HD

The original Luigi’s Mansion 2, also known as Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, was released for the Nintendo 3DS on March 24, 2013. The thrill of exploring haunted mansions, sucking up ghosts with Luigi’s trusty Poltergust, and solving spooky puzzles was an absolute delight. The arcade version, which you can still find at places like Dave and Busters, took it to another level by letting you wield a Poltergust and enjoy co-op ghost-hunting adventures with friends. The tactile experience of holding the actual vacuum-like weapon and the added excitement of multiplayer made it a standout experience. read more

Wish I Didn’t Buy Whisker Waters Even When It Is On Sale. What a Horrid Game Even For Cat Loving Gamer Girls Like Me.

Whisker Waters for the Nintendo Switch had a lot of potential as a cute, engaging life simulation game centered around cats and fishing. Unfortunately, it falls short in several critical areas.

Despite its promise of unique fishing mechanics and a charming world populated by cats, bears, and birds, the game is plagued by numerous technical issues and design flaws. The controls are notoriously clunky, making the gameplay experience frustrating. The character customization is extremely limited—you can’t make your character look like your cats (at least I couldn’t come close to my two pretty average domestic shorthair tabbies), choose a gender, or even name your character, which detracts from the personalization aspect that many players, including myself, value highly in life simulation games. read more

Charade Maniacs Nintendo Switch Otome Game Review

Oh my gosh, Charade Maniacs Otome for Nintendo Switch is like a whirlwind of excitement, romance, and total mystery! 🌟💖

First of all, the art by Teita, who also worked on Norn 9 (another fave of mine!), is absolutely fab! You get to see characters from different angles – front, side, back, and their faces are even animated. Though I have to say, their hands looked kinda weird, and the bodies were a bit too stiff for my liking. Still, I’d rate the art like 4 out of 5 stars – way better than some newer games like Jack Jeanne. read more

Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Is Not As Bad As People Claim. I Love Pokemon Violet And Here’s Why.

I anxiously awaited Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s release. I preordered Pokemon Violet a month or two ago and painstakingly counted down the days until release. Early reviews and reports of Glitches and Poor Graphical Performance didn’t dissuade my excitement. Finally the day was here. I spent that weekend delving into the game.

I chose Sprigatito for my starter but was torn between him and Quaxly. Don’t think the “Surprise Trade” is all garbage – you might get surprised! Last night I received Quaxly AND Fuecoco. – But yeah mostly Surprise Trade is pretty garbage. People stop putting in garbage please. (Not like they’ll listen to me lol). I don’t have any real life friends playing the game though so I tried my luck at Surprise Trade. read more

Review: Nintendo Switch Hundred Year Kingdom Sucks And Is Not Even Worth the Six Dollar Sales Price Right Now

Title says it all. I just finished my first playthru of Hundred Year Kingdom and it sucks donkey balls – here’s why. No story, no CG scenes, barely able to see this world you built, mindlessly clicking and spamming the confirm button = no real gameplay and definitely no strategy. Complete waste of $6. And I really pity anyone who paid full price even at a paltry sum of $12.

So what is this game all about?

You have a goddess companion who does nothing except put some idle chat on the left hand side of your screen or occassionally claim she found money or items. She has no personality or character development at all. And neither do you (or whoever the Main Character is.) No real meaningful interactions. no backstory, no nothing, nadda, zip. read more

Why Nintendo Sports On Nintendo Switch Will Appeal To Casual Female Gamers

Nintendo Sports, the latest release in the Wii Sports series will definitely appeal to many readers of my blog here. Not only are the games fun, but there’s tons of Gacha Style elements with limited dressup items dropping every week. Gotta catch em all. It will take a lot of online play to earn enough points to spin that gacha and each gacha only sticks around for about 2 weeks. Nintendo has said they want to release new cosmetic items every week. The game’s only been out less than a week and they’ve released 3 Gacha so far. One of them is ending in about 5 days. If you manage to get all the items in the gacha, you also get some awesome super rare event dressup items. It honestly reminds me a bit of Miitomo which I miss so much. read more

Arcadia Fallen – Visual Novel With Alchemy Review

Thanks to the folks at Galdra Studios for allowing me to review their debut visual novel, Arcadia Fallen. As a first release from an indie game publisher, Arcadia Fallen definitely exceeded my expectations in many ways. First of all, the game’s high production values from voice acting, to character portraits, and even a catchy anime opening song and animation, all pull you right into the game. From there, the characters and story and unraveling the mysteries of the game keep you glued to your gaming chair. For those that find routine visual novel gameplay a bit dull, you might like the puzzle aspects in Arcadia Fallen because it has a nice crafting and alchemy feature. read more
