Spoiler Fan Theory: Who is the Real Butcher in M Night Shymalanโ€™s Trap Movie?

Alternate Theory Breakdown: Is Rachel the Real Villain in Trap?

We rewatched Trap last night (saw it in theaters when it came out but forgot a lot โ€” itโ€™s been over a year). Now I canโ€™t stop thinking about it. Hereโ€™s why I believe that โ€” at least for Spencerโ€™s abduction โ€” it might be Rachel, not Cooperโ€ฆ or that they were in it together.

Clue 1: The White Car vs. Cooperโ€™s OCD

Cooperโ€™s Routine:

  • Always drove a black car.
  • Was extremely OCD โ€” wouldnโ€™t break his own patterns.

Rachelโ€™s Car:

  • Hers was white โ€” the same color used in Spencerโ€™s abduction.
  • This breaks Cooperโ€™s pattern but matches Rachelโ€™s.

Clue 2: Rachelโ€™s Reaction to the Abduction Video

  • She watches the footage of Spencer being abducted with calm fascination.
  • Thereโ€™s no panic or horror โ€” just focus.
  • Could be emotional detachmentโ€ฆ or emotional fulfillment, similar to how Cooper enjoyed revisiting his crimes.

Clue 3: The Mysterious Concert Ticket

  • Rachel claims she left the ticket, but sounds uncertain.
  • Cooper is too meticulous to have left a trail like that.
  • Was this ticket a setup by Rachel to trap Cooper before he could expose her?

Clue 4: Rachelโ€™s โ€œFeelingโ€ โ€” A Subtle Confession?

  • She tells authorities she had a bad โ€œfeelingโ€ she couldnโ€™t shake.
  • The film implies itโ€™s about Cooper.
  • But what if the โ€œfeelingโ€ was actually her own urge to harm Spencer?

Clue 5: The Poisoned Pie

  • Rachel says she poisoned the pie after finding something in Cooperโ€™s bag.
  • But Cooper had never used carbon monoxide before โ€” this was a new MO.
  • Perhaps it wasnโ€™t Cooper escalating โ€” it was Rachel, using her own quieter, deadlier method.

Clue 6: The Girl on the Bridge and Conflicting MOs

  • Cooperโ€™s crimes were bold and public (e.g., pushing a woman down stairs, the bridge body, explosives).
  • Spencerโ€™s death was slow, hidden, quiet โ€” completely different from Cooperโ€™s style.
  • Suggests Spencer wasnโ€™t killed by Cooper โ€” but by Rachel.

Clue 7: The Brewster Street House

  • Cooper says he never killed anyone there, just fantasized.
  • Claims he saw Rachel there twice, then never returned.
  • Was Cooper disturbed by what he saw Rachel doing? Did he distance himself out of fear?

Clue 8: โ€œBecause of Her, Iโ€™ll Never See My Kids Againโ€

  • Cooper says this line with bitterness.
  • The surface interpretation: she turned him in.
  • The darker one: her actions crossed a line โ€” she killed Spencer or others, dooming their family forever.

Alternate Theory Possibilities

Theory 1: Rachel Is the True Butcher

  • Cooper may be a disturbed fantasist, but Rachel committed the crimes.
  • His writings, OCD, and rituals were a red herring.
  • Rachel was the real monster hiding in plain sight.

Theory 2: Both Are Guilty โ€” In Different Ways

  • Cooper: showy, bold, craves attention.
  • Rachel: quiet, calculated, cold.
  • Spencer may have triggered her darker side โ€” she kills, and lets Cooper take the fall.

Theory 3: Rachelโ€™s Darkness Is Psychological

  • She didnโ€™t commit physical murder โ€” but sheโ€™s twisted by trauma.
  • Her obsession, reactions, and decisions are shaped by something deeply broken inside.

Movie Review: Here Starring Tom Hanks โ€“ A Deeply Emotional and Philosophical Journey

Omg, I loved Here with Tom Hanks! Critics and fans might give it low ratings, with scores around 20-30% out of 100, but Iโ€™m here to say, donโ€™t let that fool you! This movie is not garbage at allโ€”itโ€™s thought-provoking, moving, and exactly the type of film that makes you think.

If youโ€™re the type of person who loves digging into deep, emotional, and philosophical themes, then this movie is for you. I know that might not be everyoneโ€™s tasteโ€”sometimes people just want comedy or action. But Here is something different. Itโ€™s a journey that plays with the ideas of time, memory, and love, and it does it in a way that sticks with you long after the credits roll. read more

Joker 2: Joker Folie a Deux Review: SPOILER WARNING

Do not read this review if you do not want to hear spoilers for the new 2024 Joker 2: Joker folie ร  deux.

Again this will contain spoilers

Leave now this is your last warning.

Spoiler Warning: This review contains major spoilers and personal reflections on Joker: Folie ร  Deux.

We went to see Joker: Folie ร  Deux on opening night in a sold-out, packed theater. Chaos ruled the experience from the start, with children as young as five or six running up and down the stairs during the filmโ€”a strange sight, considering the dark themes. The atmosphere was as wild as the movie itself. Leaving the theater, we encountered chaos on the roads too. People walked in pitch black, dressed in dark clothing, and we almost ran them over. Just a mile later, we came across what looked like the ending scene of the filmโ€”multiple car crashes, scrap metal, broken glass, and ambulances. The filmโ€™s chaotic energy seemed to spill into the real world. read more

A Ghost Story Review: A Bizarre Journey to an Unexpectedly Profound Ending

A Ghost Story Official Trailer

Introduction:

When I first heard about A Ghost Story (2017), the hype was real. The critics were raving, the trailer hinted at deep existential themes, and the movie seemed to have collected awards like a ghost in a haunted house. But does it live up to the buzz? I dove in, prepared for an emotional journey through life, death, and beyond. What I got was one of the most perplexing viewing experiences of my lifeโ€”a mix of profound beauty and utter frustration. Buckle up; this is not your typical ghost story.

The Good, The Bad, and The Confusing

Letโ€™s not sugarcoat it: A Ghost Story is not an easy watch. The first hour and a half felt like an eternity. Imagine a film where a grieving widow spends ten minutes silently eating a pie. Yes, ten minutes. In silence. Watching this, I felt like I had stumbled into a modern art exhibit where the artist was daring me to leave out of sheer boredom. Long, lingering shots, almost no dialogue, and a ghost under a bedsheetโ€”it felt like the movie was playing a trick on me. Was this the masterpiece that critics had lauded, or was I missing something? read more

Is Twisters a Sequel, Prequel, or Reboot of Twister (and is it any good)?

Twisters Review: A Storm of Mixed Emotions

โ€œTwistersโ€ brings the whirlwind of storm-chasing back to the big screen with a new cast and a fresh take on natural disasters. As a standalone sequel to the 1996 classic โ€œTwister,โ€ it attempts to capture the heart-pounding excitement and drama that made the original a beloved hit.

One of the standout elements of โ€œTwistersโ€ is its impressive special effects. The tornado sequences are visually stunning, creating an immersive experience that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The film does an excellent job of integrating the destructive power of nature with high-stakes action scenes, making for some truly thrilling moments. read more

Barbie Movie Review From An Adult Doll Collector

As an adult doll collector, fan of ’80s and ’90s nostalgia, and a proud owner of a pink-dressed Azone Iris Petite, the Barbie Movie has been the highlight of my year. This film isn’t for kids; it’s a pop culture extravaganza tailored for grown-up enthusiasts like me.

With adult humor galore, such as Barbie’s comments about genitalia and the over-the-top macho Kens, the movie keeps you entertained throughout. Sugar Daddy Ken, Earring Ken, Pregnant Barbie, Midge, Allen, and even the “weird” Barbie – who is now getting a doll of her own – have unforgettable roles. read more

Super Mario Bros. New Animated Feature Length Movie Film Review

The Reviews for the new animated Super Mario Bros. movie are in, and they are not good. But, I decided to go see the film today and I really enjoyed it. FYI, I didn’t care for the 90s live action film, which is notorious for being the worst movie of all time to many film critics. Some of the critics are saying it’s better than the new 2023 movie, but I disagree. Despite bad reviews, I was happy with the new 2023 Super Mario Bros movie.

As a 41-year-old gamer girl who has grown up with the 8-bit NES and witnessed the evolution of the gaming world, the 2023 animated Super Mario Bros. Movie was a delightful and nostalgic trip down memory lane. read more

Beavis and Butthead Are Still Great 30 Years Later – And Here’s Why

I grew up with the loveable outrageous teenage antics of Beavis and Butthead. Long before Southpark, there was Beavis and Butthead. I loved Beavis and Butthead so much, I spent probably 20 bucks to win one of each doll from a crane machine in my mall. I loved Beavis and Butthead so much, that I was Butthead because of my brown hair, and my best friend, a blonde, was Beavis. (Not the most attractive nicknames, but it was what it was lol.)

Imagine my excitement and anticipation when a new series of Beavis and Butthead began on Paramount Plus a few weeks ago. I’ve been watching faithfully since the very first episode, and Beavis and Butthead may be better than ever, especially in an age of cancel culture. Beavis and Butthead are the same unfiltered, off the wall, controversial dynamic duo who are going against this woke era of cancel culture. read more

Free Guy Movie Review

Free Guy is the best film of 2021.

Here’s why:

You’ll love Free Guy if you’re a gamer!

First of all, I’m a huge gamer. You have to be a gamer to “get” Free Guy. If you’re not a gamer, this is one to skip. But for me, it’s my favorite film of the year. Not all will agree. My husband said 20 minutes into the movie that he didn’t understand it. I explained it by referencing Dead Pool, another film starring Ryan Reynolds. In Dead Pool, the main character realizes he’s inside a comic book. In Free Guy, “Guy” (Ryan Reynolds) realizes he’s inside a video game. Realizing that they cannot die, and that nothing they do matters, they develop an almost god like complex. But in Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds is actually a good guy and motivated by love. read more

The Mitchells VS The Machines Movie Review

The Mitchells VS The Machines is the #1 movie on Netflix today. I watched it on a whim this evening all by myself as I waited for my fiance to get off work. I went into the movie completely blind, knowing nothing about it at all. Within the first three minutes I was literally laughing out loud. I almost NEVER laugh when watching TV – I cry easy watching TV – and The Mitchells VS The Machines had me shed a few tears too before all was over.

It’s a movie with a lot of heart. The characters feel very real. Although flawed as the family might be, they have a very human like quality. It’s also very relateable due to the topics it includes. No, not robot apocalypses, but the themes of family, and growing up and fear of failure and taking risks and learning to let go, and let your children chart their own course. read more

Captain Marvel Super Hero(ine) Comic Movie Review About Girl Power & The Feminist Movement

I just watched Captain Marvel lastnight. For those living under a rock, Captain Marvel is the leader of Marvel’s Avengers. She’s a famous super hero(ine) and tough as nails army (airforce) girl turned super hero.

She’s not new, created by famous comic book legend, Stan Lee, and making her comic book debut in 1967.

The movie however is more recent, releasing about 2 years ago in March of 2019.

So just a heads up – yes I am a woman, but I am definitely not a feminist. I don’t really like the movement or concept that a woman can only be strong if she dresses and acts like a man. I am very much a girly girl. I don’t wear makeup (mostly cuz I’m too lazy and also have no idea how to wear it correctly lol). But I do love me some dresses, and I’d consider my personality to be more on the sweet and timid side and softly spoken, and also sometimes passionate or bubbly when I’m chatting about my interests. My interests may sometimes overlap with tomboy interests when it comes to geeky things like anime or video games, but that’s about it. I’m not into sports or whatever else most tomboy girls are into. read more

Life Itself

Life Itself – Movie Review

How many times have you ever sat down to watch a movie, and had to turn it off without finishing it because it was just such a bad movie? I can guess a lot of people chose to turn off this movie… So I’m here to tell you to give it another chance. This movie is amazing… but it doesn’t seem that way at first. Much like life itself in reality. Life Itself (both the movie, and well… Life) can have some pretty horrible things happen when we least expect it… but Life Itself (again both the movie, and actual real life), can have amazing beautiful moments that teach us the power of the human spirit, the power of love, and the importance of family. read more

Cats 2019 Movie Review

I just watched the 2019 remake of Cats. I have watched the original on VHS when I was young, but didn’t remember much of anything. I do like some musicals, but I’m not a musical buff and I tend to prefer more modern musicals like Moulin Rouge. I went into this pretty blind, and afterwards, I looked up some information, and I see it has been called the worst movie of all time. The worst movie ever made. I disagree with that. And here’s why.

Ok I have a few complaints before I can get to telling you why I actually liked cats. Here are some things I really disliked about it. read more
