Doki Doki June Box Opening Subscription Crate Review

Doki Doki June Box Opening Subscription Crate Review

As you can see from my instagram posts – I got my DokiDoki Crate today. My final verdict is do not subscribe to this crate — It has cute stuff, but the stuff inside was worth MAYBE 10 bucks, and that’s REALLY fricken stretching it lol. — I’d say its worth about 5 bucks. I paid $15 with a coupon. Regularly they charge $30 — which is almost criminal if you ask me. It was FULL of TINY teeny tiny JUNK. I subscribe ALSO to Pusheen Crate which is the same price and full of SUPER high quality, wonderful, LARGE items. — This is like literally full of 25 cent trinkets, no lie.— Some of them are adorable of course — but I feel they are charging too much. This box should be about 10 a month, tops. maybe 15 to count for shipping and handling, max. read more

Betoyo Anime Figure Subscription Box Launches Website Revival and Lower Pricing

A representative from Betoyo contacted me last week to let me know they’ve recently updated their website and introduced new lower pricing for their monthly subscription box full of geeky anime goods.

I discovered Betoyo when working on my Top 10 Subscription Boxes for Geek Girls Blog Post a few months ago. At the time, their website was outdated, but I could tell from their social media and blog that the site and service was still active. I’m glad to hear about the website revival and new pricing! (and I’ll also go update my top 10 list to reflect the good news). read more

Top 10 Subscription Boxes for Geek Girls

Top 10 Subscription Boxes for Geek Girls

Subscription boxes are taking over the internet. If you’ve never heard of such a thing, you must be living under a rock. The basic premise is you subscribe by paying a monthly fee and you get a box full of monthly goods delivered to your doorstep (or digitally in the case of a few subscription services out there). You don’t get to choose the items inside, so it’s like Christmas, or a birthday, opening a box and being surprised every month. How exciting! Of course, you run the risk of not liking what’s inside either though so it’s a gamble. They have boxes for everything from beauty products, to cat toys, dog treats, and yes, even anime and gamer and geeky boxes too. read more

Mechanical Rocking Horse for Adults

WTF is a Mechanical Rocking Horse – It’s Awesome That’s What it Is

So my new “life goal” (ok not really) is to lose enough weight to get under 154 lbs which is the maximum weight limit for a toy by a company called UFREE which makes something called Large Mechanical Rocking Horses.

How did I come across this? I just encountered a video clip here: https://www.facebook.com/ponycyclenz/videos/1081942061815988/ of a mother, father, and baby, all riding various sizes/shapes of these Mechanical Rocking Horses, bouncing down the street…. And it is totally adorable… and looks like great exercise too. read more

Edit: Moved pics to a floating Div to make this post easier to read. EDIT again: turned off inline related posts for this post because they were again breaking this post and making it harder to read – sorry!

Today I’m reviewing my Fairyland Celine Minifee in Normal Skin with Default Faceup from Fairyland.

She has the Moe bodyline. I’ve had her now for about 1 year and ordered her during a period of time where Fairyland was experiencing a lot of delays in delivery time due to the popular nature of their sculpts, and high demand for their dolls. read more

Momiiji Dolls

Momijii Dolls – Cute Limited Edition Dolls With Notes Inside

Momiiji Dolls

Kokeshi dolls are traditional Japanese Wooden dolls that are often hand carved and painted. These dolls originated in the 1600s and were sold as souvenirs to traveling tourists who visited the Japanese Hotsprings.

Fastforward 400 years later, and meet the Momijii Doll. These Kokeshi inspired figurines have taken the Kokeshi theme and turned it into a profitable online business by creating dozens of super rare limited edition dolls at affordable prices.

What’s more, these dolls make great gifts, because you can turn them upside down and remove a note, which you can personalize. This makes them great ideas for holidays, weddings, anniversaries, or graduations. Any special occasion, there’s a doll to match that. read more

Edit to add: (cleaned up images by moving them to a floating div, making this easier to read. also nixed the old banner ads as we use a different platform now.) I also want to add that Kitty Blue in the Ohio ABJD meetup group helped me restring and hot-glue “suede” this doll a year or two ago which helped a lot of the problems I mention in this review. She also told me buying shoes, especially boots that go up the legs, would help add more stability. read more
