SaGa Scarlet Grace – Coming to PS Vita / PS TV in 2016

I recently read a review for another game, The Legend of Legacy, over on Techno Buffalo, where they continuously compare the game to SaGa Frontier, because some of the same developers went on to work on the Legend of Legacy. Which looks like a great game for the 3DS by the way (after reading their very in depth review, I really want to play the game now too!).

I also have very fond memories of SaGa Frontier and its sequels. But what I was really reminded of was the fact that at this previous Tokyo Game Show (2015), we were treated with a trailer for a new SaGa game, SaGa Scarlet Grace. And it is very likely, we will get this game in the U.S. As well as our friends in Europe, as Gematsu reported that Squaresoft trademarked the name Saga Scarlet Grace for both markets. read more

Christmas Nights - Sega Saturn Retro Game Review - Special Limited Edition Disc

Christmas Nights – Sega Saturn Retro Game Review – Special Limited Edition Disc

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – at least in the Retro Sega Saturn Special Disc called Christmas Nights. I received this game as a kid when I purchased a gaming magazine (I can’t remember which magazine now though as this was back in the 90s).

But if you didn’t grow up in the 90s, you can still play Christmas Nights after beating the HD Remastered Nights into Dreams at least one time.

Christmas Nights is a special game that expands on the great gameplay of Nights into Dreams. Players can play as either Claris or Elliot and explore a Christmas themed rendition of the first level of Claris’ Spring Valley dream, including the battle with Gillwing at the end of the level. read more

Churbles Zelda Inspired Action RPG with Cute Anime Style Hamsters

Churbles – Adorable Zelda-Like Action RPG with Anime Style Hamsters

Note: This is only a Preview. I’ve no hands on experience with this game; I just wanted to make my readers aware of this adorable little indie title. It is still in development, and no “public” beta test will be held – they are only allowing those who backed their now closed Kickstarter campaign to test the game. So the rest of us will have to wait. When it releases, it will be a cross platform game available on all current gen systems including PC, PS4, Xbone, and WiiU.

Release Date: July, 2014

Overall: 57/80 71% C- “Good Game for Girls”

Geeky Factor:

Sweetie Factor:

Concept: 10/10 Unrest is a different experience each time you play. The game jumps from perspective to perspective multiple times throughout the game, and it appears to be random each time. Sometimes you’re a human, other times a naga, sometimes a male, other times female, sometimes in power, sometimes oppressed, sometimes violent, sometimes a pacifist, sometimes good, sometimes corrupt, etc. But each time, you spend a few hours in the shoes of one of the many many different characters of this game. The choices you make do have consequences and do matter. It’s very unique. I highly recommend this game. read more

Celestian Tales: Old North: An Indie Developed Suikoden Inspired Anime RPG

Celestian Tales: Old North: An Indie Developed Suikoden Inspired Anime RPG

In the midst of E3 and steam summer sale, Ekuator Games, a quiet little indie developer from Indonesia, prepares to launch their “loving homage” to Suikoden. Featuring “moral based storylines” and “6 different perspectives” — I can’t wait to play this one. Looks good~

This title was recently funded on Kickstarter, and is quietly preparing to come to a PC near you in the coming weeks.

Check out the Gameplay Trailer:

https://youtu.be/6Ik_47M4MFg

The developers are worried that if they launch right now, they will not have a captive audience due to so much hype around E3 and the Steam Summer Sale, so they are working on polishing up a few last minute details and plan to release it in a few weeks. Stay tuned for launch details on the developer’s website. http://www.ekuatorgames.com/ read more

Lunar Eternal Blue Review by Geeky Sweetie

Title: Lunar Eternal Blue

Genre: RPG

Publisher: GameArts / Studio Alex (Japan) / Working Designs (USA)

This review is of the english version(s) by Working Designs which feature english text and english voice acting.

Geeky Factor: 3/5

Sweetie Factor: 5/5

Story: 10/10

The story of Eternal Blue takes place long after Silver Star Story. In my opinion, Eternal Blue is the better of the two games, but last time I checked, that seemed to be a minority opinion. No previous experience with silver star is required to enjoy eternal blue. In fact, I played eternal blue first, back on the sega cd, and later purchased silver star after completing eternal blue. I have played all of the lunar games in all of their iterations including some that are not very good such as dragon song and walking school. read more
