Life Makeover is an anime style dressup game that’s coming out soon for IOS and Android devices. I got tired of waiting for the Americas version, so I downloaded the SEA (Southeast Asian) version, and it might be the best game I’ve ever played on my mobile phone. And it’s already in English, both the text and the voice acting. The only downside is I’m stuck as a free to play user unless I buy some apple giftcards for the region I selected. I chose Singapore, but any SEA country will work. I haven’t decided if I will abandon the SEA version once the US version is released or play both versions. We shall see what happens. read more

I anxiously awaited Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s release. I preordered Pokemon Violet a month or two ago and painstakingly counted down the days until release. Early reviews and reports of Glitches and Poor Graphical Performance didn’t dissuade my excitement. Finally the day was here. I spent that weekend delving into the game.

I chose Sprigatito for my starter but was torn between him and Quaxly. Don’t think the “Surprise Trade” is all garbage – you might get surprised! Last night I received Quaxly AND Fuecoco. – But yeah mostly Surprise Trade is pretty garbage. People stop putting in garbage please. (Not like they’ll listen to me lol). Thanks to the folks at Galdra Studios for allowing me to review their debut visual novel, Arcadia Fallen. As a first release from an indie game publisher, Arcadia Fallen definitely exceeded my expectations in many ways. First of all, the game’s high production values from voice acting, to character portraits, and even a catchy anime opening song and animation, all pull you right into the game. From there, the characters and story and unraveling the mysteries of the game keep you glued to your gaming chair. For those that find routine visual novel gameplay a bit dull, you might like the puzzle aspects in Arcadia Fallen because it has a nice crafting and alchemy feature. read more

On a whim today, I preordered the ultra deluxe Blue Reflection Second Light that comes out for Nintendo Switch (and various other consoles) tomorrow. I spent all of 5 minutes checking out the free demo and did not get far at all. My curiosity was piqued though, because as you know, school simulation games are one of my favorite genres. As you may know from my blog, Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side is one of my favorite game series. I’ve played all 4 of them now – although none to 100% completion (meaning all routes). The fine folks in the fan translation community have translated all 3 of the first games and I have had the pleasure of playing each of them. I bought the 4th game as soon as it released and have been using Google Translate on my phone and aiming it at my Nintendo Switch.

I’ve used both a lazy neck holder and a snake like clamp holder with varying degrees of success. Both of which I bought on amazon. You just need to make sure the holder you buy does not cover the back camera of your phone because you need that camera to use the Google translation app. read more
