Today I’m reviewing my Fairyland Celine Minifee in Normal Skin with Default Faceup from Fairyland.

She has the Moe bodyline. I’ve had her now for about 1 year and ordered her during a period of time where Fairyland was experiencing a lot of delays in delivery time due to the popular nature of their sculpts, and high demand for their dolls.

I don’t know if their delivery time has improved any since then, but I would warn that you’re in for a long wait because Fairyland is one of the most popular makers of these types of dolls. I waited about 8 months for mine. Ordered her around christmas and she came near the end of June.

But it was worth the wait – these dolls are the most amazingly engineered balljoint dolls I’ve had the pleasure of owning. It’s the only doll in my collection which can stand on one foot.

And it’s not even like you have to fuss and fidget with them to make them do this. They just DO it.

These things are like rock solid.

I’ve read the Moe line is the best for holding a pose, which is what my girl happens to be.

I love how they have excellent range of motion AND the ability to hold a pose for pretty much forever. Right out of the box too, no sueding or wiring or anything needs to be done.

As far as looks go, Fairyland dolls have large heads for their small bodies.

The Moe line also has large breasts and a mature sleek figure.

Minifee are more slender than some other similar sized “MSD” dolls so when ordering clothes you should look for ones marked Slim MSD or Minifee specifically. For example, I got these two dresses on Etsy.

And you can see that, when dressed, it somewhat hides her very large chest, so you can still get away with dressing her much younger than she appears.

My favorite part about the body are the magnetic hands which you can purchase additional hand parts to get lots of cute poses. I ordered mine A la cart which allowed me to choose which hand parts I wanted. The hands are SOOOO cute. I just think the magnetic hands are a nice touch which allows you to further customize your doll. I wish more companies offered these little extra touches.

The minifee moe has small feet, I’ve heard they can wear YOSD shoes, but my girl goes barefoot so I haven’t tested this yet.

Also she has cute little dimples above her butt lol. It is a very nice, detailed sculpt.

The Celine sculpt even has two little teeth that peek out of her mouth. Sometimes (most of the time) the teeth are not visible in photos. It’s one of very few asian balljointed dolls (ABJD) that I know of which has teeth. It makes her cute and unique.

Fairyland does not offer custom faceups – I guess maybe because they are so backed up and have so many orders all the time that it would push their delivery dates out even further.

This is a bit sad, because, although the default faceup is “nice” – to me, it’s so light, that it almost looks like a blank doll. Mine came with large dark blue, almost black eyes which combined with her very light and natural faceup, kinda make her look like a real little korean girl, which is cute in it’s own way.  I’m not sure WHAT I would want exactly for a faceup, but when you pay extra money and get something you can barely even see, it’s kinda a miss.

Maybe she just needs darker brows and some more blushing, not sure.  — By contrast, my Fairyland Celine Moe F60 (a larger version of this doll ( I love the Celine sculpt lol ) has much darker makeup but I also ordered darker skin. Anyways, it’s not a big deal because you can always do your own faceup or have an artist do one for you after you buy the doll. I just thought I should say something about it, because it’s definitely a lot paler than what I was expecting.

Fairyland has had some inconsistencies with the quality of their resin. I’ve heard of it cracking, having scratches, or bubbles, or what some users describe as “snow flakes” especially on the tan skin. My tan doll does have a few VERY small dots that are lighter colored especially by her wrists. I don’t know if they attempted to sand it or what happened here; she also had a couple of VERY light scratches on her  legs – but to me they look OK. My minifee though, who is what this review is about, was in excellent perfect condition. I just felt I should mention that Fairyland doesn’t always have the best track record for quality, and they are one of the most expensive and most popular doll makers in the hobby. You can do your own research and make your own decisions about it. For me, I didn’t have too many problems, but your mileage may vary.

Fairyland as a whole DOES try to please its customers; they have a ton of special events, where if you order a doll, you get extra parts like wings, or animal parts, or even another doll, or head, etc. They have these events about once every 3 or 4 months so you should DEFINITELY wait to order a doll until they have another event.

Final Verdict:

Range of Motion: 10/10

Ability to Hold a Pose: 10/10

Aesthetics of Sculpt: 10/10

Faceup Quality: 5/10

Delivery & Service: 6/10

Final Verdict: 41/50  82% B-

  1. I think you may consider about getting for her a darker face-up. I do agree with you that her default face-up is too light, almost like bare face in strong light. Anyway, Celine is a very beautiful sculpt 😉

    1. Thank you 🙂 I would love to send her out to Nomyens eventually. She does amazing jobs on fairyland dolls. I may try to paint her myself first and see how that goes lol.
