Hook’s character is totally wrong in new PAN movie

Over the weekend, I went to the movies with my grandma. We saw PAN, a supposed origins story for Peter Pan (and other characters such as Sme and Hook.). The movie was just “okay.” I thought Blackbeard was really well cast. I have terrible facial recognition so I didn’t realize until later that it was Hugh Jackman from Xmen Wolverine fame. Blackbeard was really super funny (and a little bit creepy) and on point. The music in the film was awesome – Nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit in a children’s film?! And seeing Hugh Jackman singing the song was outrageously funny too. We happened to be the only two people in the theater so I was singing along also. And the special effects were superb. Similar in scope to the effects found in movies such as Avatar. It had great cinnematics… but suffered from terrible casting (aside from Blackbeard) AND terrible writing. read more

Mechanical Rocking Horse for Adults

WTF is a Mechanical Rocking Horse – It’s Awesome That’s What it Is

So my new “life goal” (ok not really) is to lose enough weight to get under 154 lbs which is the maximum weight limit for a toy by a company called UFREE which makes something called Large Mechanical Rocking Horses.

How did I come across this? I just encountered a video clip here: https://www.facebook.com/ponycyclenz/videos/1081942061815988/ of a mother, father, and baby, all riding various sizes/shapes of these Mechanical Rocking Horses, bouncing down the street…. And it is totally adorable… and looks like great exercise too. read more

Tumblr Seems Pretty Spiffy – Oh and We’ve changed our Tumblr URL

To create better brand awareness going forward, we have changed our url from GamesGirlsPlay.Tumblr.com to GeekySweetie.Tumblr.com – Please update your links accordingly – Of course, if you’re already following me on Tumblr, Tumblr will handle that for you <3.

This blog actually began as a Tumblr Blog… years ago…. But I never really embraced Tumblr the way I had envisioned. — Back then there were few and far between customization options and few and far between free templates. I had already been accustomed to wordpress and self hosting my blogs and spoiled by the thousands or hundreds of thousands of free themes and plugins which made customizing the site, fast, free, and fun. read more

Today I’m reviewing my Fairyland Celine Minifee in Normal Skin with Default Faceup from Fairyland.

She has the Moe bodyline. I’ve had her now for about 1 year and ordered her during a period of time where Fairyland was experiencing a lot of delays in delivery time due to the popular nature of their sculpts, and high demand for their dolls. read more

Humble Bundle Begins Monthly Subscription Service for Exclusive Game Bundles

Humble Bundle Begins Monthly Subscription Service for Exclusive Game Bundles

Humble Bundle announced today a new subscription service to get games that have never been in their weekly and regular humble bundles. The service costs $12 and the first bundle will be released on November 6th. Each subsequent bundle will be delivered via email to subscribers on the first friday of each month. You are able to sign up now to secure the first bundle. You can cancel at any time or continue your subscription to receive more bundles.

I’m torn on this one. I would love to sign up, but the fact that you can’t see what games you’re getting makes it much more risky than just purchasing their regular bundles. This is also much more costly than the typical bundles which average $2 or $3 dollars. read more

Which Video Game Console Should I Buy?

The question that never dies, “Which console is best?” It has fans fiercely defending their champion console while bashing rival consoles; but what everyone fails to realize is, the console is only as good as the games available on that console. I’m talking about exclusive titles for those systems. With the holidays almost upon us, I hope you will find this information useful if shopping for a new gaming device for yourself or for a gift for someone else.

Lufia 2 Rise of the Sinistrals Retro SNES JRPG Game Review

geeky

Title: Lufia 2 Rise of the Sinistrals

Genre: RPG

Publisher: Natsume

Platform: SNES

Release Date: 1996

Geeky

Sweetie

Overall Score: 60/80 75% C “Good Game For Girls”

Concept: 9/10 This review is for the 2nd game in the Lufia series. Although, chronologically, the events in this game take place before the events in Lufia & the Fortress of Doom. Which we reviewed by the way over here in our Lufia and the Fortress of Doom Review. The 2nd game improved upon many aspects of the original including some pacing issues with the story and enhanced graphics, more challenging puzzles to solve, and no more random encounters. The story in Lufia 2 Rise of the Sinistrals takes you back to playing as Maxim and the original heroes who helped defeat the sinistrals as shown briefly in the prologue of the first game. Like it’s predecessor, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals also includes some dungeon crawling and adds a new monster taming mechanic, but the game is largely a traditional turn based JRPG with colorful graphics, endearing characters, and a heart warming story. read more

Churbles Zelda Inspired Action RPG with Cute Anime Style Hamsters

Churbles – Adorable Zelda-Like Action RPG with Anime Style Hamsters

Note: This is only a Preview. I’ve no hands on experience with this game; I just wanted to make my readers aware of this adorable little indie title. It is still in development, and no “public” beta test will be held – they are only allowing those who backed their now closed Kickstarter campaign to test the game. So the rest of us will have to wait. When it releases, it will be a cross platform game available on all current gen systems including PC, PS4, Xbone, and WiiU.

Konami NOT stopping development of AAA titles for Console or PC

Did I call this one or what? Last week, rumors abounded that Konami was exiting the gaming market once again (this rumor ALREADY happened earlier this year). Can we finally put this rumor to bed now please? As I wrote in my article here: Konami Reportedly Stops Making Games, Internet Goes Crazy Over Rumors I advised gamers to not get too upset, and boy was I right. Konami ONCE AGAIN denied rumors that they are exiting the console and pc marketplace.

Banana Cat

I put my Cat in a Banana Costume (10 Pics of my Cat in Banana Costume)

Banana Cat
Banana Cat

I bought this costume tonight for my dog, but she wouldn’t hold still to take photos, so I thought well I’ll try it on one of my cats. I had to bribe him with treats, and it was too small, the neck part fit good, but he is fat (or fluffy or both), so the Extra Small costume (for my chihuahua) was much too small around his waist. FYI The waist part is not fastened it’s just laying there under him. I would not force something tight or hurt him at all. It’s only fastened at the neck in which he had plenty of room. read more
