Best Laptops for PC Gamers That Won’t Drain Your Bank Account!

Editor’s Note: Today’s Guest Post comes from one of our readers, Marie Miguel, who shares with us some awesome prices for “gaming” laptops. Not all of the laptops on her list are suitable for “Core” gamers because some of them have intel integrated graphics cards – however, quite a few on her list do have Nvidia or AMD dedicated graphic cards – and all of them on the list would be suitable for casual gamers who enjoy indie or retro games. Check out her suggestions below, and leave a comment about your gaming rig – or about other great deals for affordable gaming laptops – in our comments section below. read more

This is a paid review, however all opinions are 100% my own.

I’ve done a number of reviews for dealspotr, because it’s my favorite GPT (Get Paid To) website. I’ve been a member of dealspotr since May 2016. In the past 6 months I’ve received over $200 amazon gift cards. I’ve not found a faster or more fun way to earn money online.

I’ve put together a very in depth tutorial for new users here with pictures that show you walking through how to register your free account, choosing interests, following your favorite stores, validating deals, and sharing your own deals on the site. Be sure you check it out.

The site is simple and easy to use. When you log on (assuming it’s not your first visit to the site) you’ll see a page with some hot deals that are currently trending. In the upper right hand side you’ll see your profile showing your dashboard with an orange bar indicating how close you are to your next gift card as well as showing a daily task list that you can optionally complete to score some free points each day. You’ll also see your accuracy score in green.

Accuracy score is super important on dealspotr. When it is low you will be limited in how many deals you can post or validate each day. Make sure you are only posting valid deals and assigning them to the correct sections of the site. As your accuracy score increases, you will soon reach a point where you can post and validate unlimited deals which means there’s no limit to how much you can earn using the site.

On the left hand side, you’ll see a big blue button that says +Add a Deal – This is where you go to share your own deals. You’ll be asked a series of questions to get information about the deal such as if it requires a coupon code, if it’s sitewide or applies only to specific items, and the expiration date. You can share all kinds of deals from printable coupons, to online sales, or even “matchup deals” demonstrating how to use multiple deals to maximize your discounts.

Based on the types of deals you add and the information you provide, you’ll earn varying amounts of points typically around 50 points per deal. Every 10,000 points you earn will give you another gift card. They are a tiny bit slow in sending the gift cards out. Typically it only takes 2-3 days but I’ve had it take up to 10-12 days before. This is normal, so don’t get nervous if your reward takes awhile to arrive – and be sure to check your junk and spam folders as well.

Not only do you earn money, but you can save a ton of money on things you already buy, ranging from food, dining out, groceries, clothing, baby items, household goods, toys, video games, electronics, and much more. dealspotr has dozens of deals for your favorite stores and brands.

Countdown to Black Friday with New Deals Every Day on Amazon

Amazon just launched their Black Friday Pre-sale event. You can check back every day for new items at http://amazon.com/Black-Friday/…

Already they are offering up some pretty sweet deals for geeks and gamers. I recommend bookmarking and checking back as often as possible. I’m hoping for a PS4 Bundle or Console to go on sale. I have enough already to purchase, but since it is that time of year, saving some money never hurts, and I’ve waited this long already to get myself the newest consoles, so might as well hang in there a few more weeks and see what happens!

Last year, amazon had amazing black friday and cyber monday exclusive gaming bundles for all three major game systems including Xbone, PS4, and WiiU. This year the savings should be even greater since the technology continues to age and the market gets even more competitive with new consoles such as the Xbox Scorpio, PS4 Pro, and (soon to be released) Nintendo Switch, which means the standard Xbox One, PS4 Slim, and possibly Wii U will need to discount their inventory to see a strong finish this year.

PC Gamers are not to be forgotten, RIGHT NOW amazon has awesome Black Friday deals on headsets, lightup keyboards, game controllers, gaming mice, and more. There are some great deals such as headsets for 65% off, hot new release games for both console and pc at up to 75% off and many more.

Amazon even has a page set up specifically for gaming deals here: http://amzn.to/2evLcYi

or a general one for Electronics here: http://amzn.to/2evMYZH

I’m also needing a new gaming laptop, and Amazon has a page for PC and Laptop deals here: http://amzn.to/2elLmON

Video Games not your thing? Maybe you want some boardgames, legos, cute plushies, dolls, or figures? If so amazon also has a page for you here: http://amzn.to/2fp9ssJ

And the sales will continue into cyber monday as well and Cyber Monday has it’s own page for deals which will be located at http://amzn.to/2fk9JB3 once it goes live later this month.

D4 Dark Dreams Don’t Die Game Review

Title: D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die

Genre: Sandbox Game with elements from Simulation Games, Dressup Games, Point n Click Games, Visual Novels, Adventure Games, and “TellTales Style” Games.

    Developer: Access Games

Release Date: September 2014 (Xbone) June 2015 (PC)

    Platforms: Xbone and PC

You can check here to see what the weekly humble bundle currently is. Otherwise, you will need to purchase either a season pass, or buy the episodes individually (if that’s even possible everywhere I look appears to be selling “Season 1” for $14.99 (or less with steam holiday sale). You can check steam for the PC version here or Xbox Store for the Xbone version here.

    Geeky

    Sweetie:

    Overall: 70 / 80 88% B+ Very Good Game for Girls

Concept: 10/10 I picked this up in the weekly humble bundle – I’ve had my eye on it for awhile now but wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not enough to pay full price. I cannot stop playing it. I was up well past my self imposed bedtime lastnight lol. It’s a fun little sandbox style game with a really interesting story that plays similar to telltale’s games with “QTE Quick Time Events”

Story: 10/10 In the game, you play as a retired police officer, who left the force when his wife’s murder remained unsolved. He has amnesia surrounding the events about his wife’s murder, and a nasty scar that he received as well. Before his wife died, while in the hospital, she told him to “Find D”. The nasty scar left him with a super power of sorts, he can “dive” into the past if he has a memento (a personal belonging) from the suspect and he has been researching and eliminating potential suspects trying to find who murdered his wife – I have a pretty good feeling who it was, because of the cat hissing at him in the prologue, but I could be way off too as I’m only on the 2nd episode right now lol. So this isn’t a spoiler, just my speculation. “Diving” into the past is not without consequence though; similar to Life is Strange, which I’ve reviewed here, our main character gets bad nose bleeds and begins to experience some weird things as a result of using his powers.

Characters: 8/10 There’s definitely a lot of interesting characters. Your cat turns human, your wife appears as a ghost, there’s drug lords, henchmen, a crazy looking doctor, a paranoid crazy woman, a really quirky fashion designer, and lots of other oddities. The characters are all over the top and a lil crazy, but highly original and entertaining.

Gameplay: 7/10 It’s really fun to play. The controls are kinda “wonky” on the pc version though. I wish I could just walk around with W A S D and explore freely like in most adventure games; instead it’s kinda like walking around in IMVU, because you just click on one spot after another, and you can look left/right or down as well as turn around in the spot you’re standing to explore further. The combat is fun, and simple, you make swiping movements and it feels a lot more fluid and interactive than telltales games even though its a similar concept. I think the adrenaline pumping music as well as the wild animations and fun things that the characters use in their fights help keep it feeling a lot more fluid. There’s also multiple dialog choices when interacting with people. Interestingly enough, there’s also a ton of customization in this game; you can find outfits and accessories everywhere. Some give bonuses to your stats, but most are just cosmetic. Not only do you get to dress your main character, but also a plethora of other characters that you meet as well. You also need to eat to keep up your energy which slowly depletes itself as you are exploring, interacting, or talking to other characters. You also have a life bar, which will take a dip when you mess up in the quick time events. You can purchase or find first aid kits and bandages to restore your life bar. As for the food, it’s fun finding new foods to eat, they’ve made it into a sort of collection type game where it shows you how many different types of food you’ve eaten, how many calories, etc. Really neat. Loses quite a few points from me for the controls, but the gameplay itself is actually one of the most fun experiences I’ve had in gaming.

Voice Acting: 8/10 The Boston accents annoy me – sorry to anyone from Boston here. lol. But no, to be honest, the voice acting is actually pretty darn good. There’s a lot of emotion into the script and the entire thing is fully voiced by a wide range of different characters with different voices and nuances.

Music: 10/10 The music is really unusual, sometimes heavy metal, other times, almost angelic or gospel sounding. But always fitting with the theme and in a way, the music itself is used to help tell the story. The metal music is used in fight scenes or action scenes, while more mysterious and soft music is used at home or when exploring.

Graphics: 9/10 The game is cel-shaded, but with a sorta grungy film-noir effect. I really like the character designs, they’re rather “anime-ish” looking in a way, despite how they are colored in a more western fashion. The environments are also very nice with lots of things to explore and collect. a lot of detail went into designing each of the levels. I would have preferred it to be a more clean cel-shading similar to Catherine, which I’ve reviewed right here, but overall, I really like how this game looks.

    Overall: 70 / 80 88% B+ Very Good Game for Girls

Bundles and Black Friday Deals Make Christmas Bright for Girl Gamers

This is just a collection of things I’ve come across this week that other gamer girls out there may find interesting. It’s the biggest shopping weekend in the USA, and many digital retailers are also offering deals as well as deals in store for many electronics.

Both Kohls and Walmart will have the PS4 for $299 on Black Friday. – I’m hoping to maybe be lucky enough to pick one up but I did just get an Iphone so I don’t know if I’ll have the $$$$ for a PS4 right now, which is fine anyways since the game I really want (Persona 5) got delayed til summer 2016 anyways. And I also really need a new PC – mine is finally starting to lose it’s ability to play some nextgen games (such as Fallout 4). Which I realize isn’t even the most graphically intensive game out there; but I only have a middle of the line Acer that’s 2+ years old now (only cost me about 600 originally, compared to my previous rig, an Alien ware which cost me like 1300 (But last me for 2-3 times longer). So The PS4 $$$ could be half the payment of a new PC too. Still do want PS4 though — and a Wii U 🙂 I don’t normally play graphically intensive games, but ocassionally I do such as the new fallout So I need to get a better PC at some point.

Humble Bundle has some games from Japan in their weekly bundle from last week still going on but none of them really interested me or I have most of them already You can view it here

Indie Gala has a lot of visual novels and otome games in their Every Monday bundle this week – I picked this one up. Lots of these games were on my Steam wishlist and also are games which I have not previously seen bundled.

If you’re looking for an Xbone (not sure why you’d want one except for the 2 “supposedly” “exclusive” JRPGs (supposedly and quotes because one of these titles already exists on PSP, its just getting a cosmetic pretty facelift for the Xbone, so not really “exclusive” in my opinion lol.) Anyways, if for some reason you do want an Xbone (Scalebound looks interesting as well as the two aforementioned “exclusive” JRPGs) you can pick one up this weekend for $350. Here’s a list where to find one at http://www.cnet.com/news/its-official-xbox-one-price-drops-50-during-black-friday-weekend/ — Personally I think the PS4 blackfriday price of $299 is a better deal and has better games, especially if you’re here reading my blog, chances are you like RPGs, JRPGs, Simulation Games, Otome, Visual Novels, etc – none of which you’ll find on Xbone.

Wii U reguarlly $299 is dropping to $250 at both Walmart and Meijer and looks like it comes with the much beloved Super Smash Bros game. Wii U is also home to Xenoblade Chronicles and future home to the upcoming SMT X FE # which that game alone, makes it a definite must own in my opinion. Plus the nintendo e-store has great retro games such as Earthbound, Harvest Moon, and Chrono Trigger too to name a few. You can read more here: http://www.idigitaltimes.com/black-friday-wii-u-deals-best-nintendo-sales-black-friday-2015-492132

It’s rumored that the big Steam sales that we all know and love will begin on November 25th and run through December 1st. This year it’s also rumored that we won’t have daily deals and flash sales, and that the game will remain the sale price for the duration of the steam sale. It’s also rumored the biggest event of the year, the Steam holiday sale will occur on december 22nd, and run until January 4th. Note this is just unconfirmed rumors. I heard about these rumors here: http://www.vg247.com/2015/11/20/no-steam-flash-or-daily-sales-coming-this-autumn-and-winter-according-to-leak/

All week long Tee Turtle shirts are just $12 I have bought from them in the past and can vouch they are amazing and utterly adorable, even the packaging they ship in! http://www.teeturtle.com/

    http://www.greenmangaming.com/
Green Man Gaming has 25% off ALL digital games with coupon: 1MZ9FW-H92JSD-2CT74F

Holiday sale is now live at http://www.rightstufanime.com/ including dvds, figures, and toys

Junkyspot.com almost always has black friday sales for asian balljointed dolls, obitsu, and hujoo dolls. Though nothing has been announced just yet. Their sale traditionally lasts a week, with different unannounced dolls available at steep discounts each day, and if you miss out that day you can’t go back, which is tricky and exciting, trying to wait for the doll you want, or take the one you can afford. I got my Hujoo Dana one year in this way, for a big discount (I can’t recall but I believe she may have been 30% which is like $100 off).

Funimation is having “Up to 70%” select titles. View the full list of anime discounts here http://shop.funimation.com/Shop/Shop_Filter.ss?scategory=1339156

Jlist is having “up to $40 off” in their blackfriday sale. I couldn’t find the exact details. More info here: http://anime.jlist.com/click/5631/70

Dollmore returns with their fukubukuro lucky bag program with various different price tiers plus the chance to win a doll if you purchase $150 tiered bag or larger. Each bag has about 3 times it’s price in items worth for dolls of all sizes and genders, allowing you to score some nice finds. I bought a bag last year and was very happy with what I got. Will probably purchase again once I get paid.

I will keep adding to this list as I find other great deals for us <3.
