Concept: 6/10 Tiny Farm is a game similar in nature to that of Harvest Moon or Farmville. The objective is to take care of live stock, plant and harvest crops, go fishing, and breed the animals in your farm, all while making a profit to buy new farming equipment, better seeds, better livestock, etc. It’s one of those games that’s fun in small doses, and addictive at first, but if you intend to play it heavily, you may become bored by the repetitive nature of these games. They try to lessen that effect somewhat by regularly having special events with limited edition livestock or other prizes that you don’t want to miss out on, which keeps you logging in to keep up with the latest in-game events and items. I also find it a bit more interesting than just a farming simulator as you can also run your own zoo, or go to the beach, or participate in other activities as well. read more

Overall: 64/80 80% B- “Very Good Game For Girls”

Concept: 10/10 The concept here is very fun, you can check out what I think of the Gameplay and Customization below which are really the highlights of this game. The concept is that you and all of your ancestors and descendants have been cursed by someone so that they will live a very short life and also never be able to reproduce normally – instead they must reproduce with gods and demons. The game is fast paced and your characters do die quickly which forces you to keep breeding with the gods to make new clan members. You can pass down heirloom armor and the armor gets new powers as it is passed down. Combat is turn based and there is also a city building element to the game. Read on to learn more about each of these features. read more

Zookeeper Battle VS Free Ipad Game Like Tetris But With Cute Animals

First a “State-of-the-geek” message (Skip this message by scrolling past the top 3 paragraphs).

Zookeeper vs iPad game

A photo posted by jenilee (@xenokitten) on

Been a lonnnng time since I’ve posted anything for you guys. So here is a review of one of my favorite Ipad Games (plus hey it’s free, so you should really check it out!)

First, I’m still alive, and still geeky and passionate about all things geeky, kawaii, or otherwise known as awesome. I work a full 40+ hour work week, as a web developer / graphic artist / catchall for web/graphic/print/advertising/marketing lol. So I often don’t feel too inspired to work on my many “personal” (fun / hobby) websites. This one here ( http://geekysweetie.com ), http://partymotif.com , and my newest one http://otakujam.com I do not profit on anything that I write. I do have ad revenue, but not even enough to cover the costs of running and maintaining the servers and domain names of all the sites, let alone the time and energy and effort into maintaining them. So I apologize if updates are slow. If you’re actually reading this, thank you 🙂 If you’d like to chat sometime about games or anime or technology or anything else, please feel free to drop me a line. I love making new geeky friends. 🙂 Also I hope to go to Colosocon in Sandusky OH this spring. Anyone else going? ^^ I am super shy, and need friends :). read more

Lunar Eternal Blue Review by Geeky Sweetie

Title: Lunar Eternal Blue

Genre: RPG

Publisher: GameArts / Studio Alex (Japan) / Working Designs (USA)

This review is of the english version(s) by Working Designs which feature english text and english voice acting.

Geeky Factor: 3/5

Sweetie Factor: 5/5

Story: 10/10

The story of Eternal Blue takes place long after Silver Star Story. In my opinion, Eternal Blue is the better of the two games, but last time I checked, that seemed to be a minority opinion. No previous experience with silver star is required to enjoy eternal blue. In fact, I played eternal blue first, back on the sega cd, and later purchased silver star after completing eternal blue. I have played all of the lunar games in all of their iterations including some that are not very good such as dragon song and walking school. read more
